In Austria if you slow down to sensible speeds in built up areas and on low rev's then no problem
Drop it a few gears and high rev's you get pulled over and a full vehicle check including sound meter

Never had any problems in over 20 years if you are sensible. This includes riding with people who where on classics with little or no baffling

Danny did anyone have an aftermarket pipe, and if so did the local law raise any eyebrows? I believe they can be very hot on such things.

I think we had one Akrapovic which (as I was leading most of the time) only sounded loud in the garages we parked in, no issues anywhere and we didn’t pass quite a few police at road checkpoints and borders, I was mostly stood up through these as well, waved at them and they waved back. I personally much prefer the quietest possible so I can have as much fun as possible without pissing everyone else off but I do have a really loud horn.
