5 hours.

ps it's the wrong colour ( green , camo ,grey , multi tarn ) and it's too big. too many poles.
I listened to a chum who told me this was very definitely the one to get. Goodness knows why I listened to him but I do like the idea of partially covering the tent and having a covered area beyond it too. I guess that's why I went XL.

Where's the sides 🤔😜

This thread has made me laugh a lot. Thank you comrade. 👏

On second view...it doesn't look right. Just saying. 😬
My pleasure. 😁

TBF At the moment it looks like it would be a bloody good collector of rainwater given the way it sags heavily in the middle. I might offer it to a charity who work in water deprived areas......

Ok……… I guess it’s up, sort of. :augie

Not quite sure about it though. Just doesn’t look right to me.

I set this up in 5 mins in Scotland earlier this week, adjusted it forwards and dropped the front ( because the wind changed direction ).

If you think of your square ( I’m presuming it’s square ) tarp, imagine a big cross going across it to the 4 corners, your guy ropes need to be a continuation of that cross to give it the strength and stability. Your poles need to be at the end of that cross too. To confuse things you could, with a bit more practice do 2 guy ropes at each corner going at 45 degrees. Ultra strong that way.
Looking at your set up again i’d also say your guy ropes are WAY too close to the poles to give any kind of real support. Oh, and don’t put guy ropes in the middle, you’re just pulling it down from the middle.
You need some really good length and strength pegs at the corners because that’s where all the tension comes from. A good thick, strong guy line plus strong adjusters will help massively. You can really crank the tension up with good strong gear.

Don’t give up just yet! I can meet you somewhere and give you a few lessons on how to set it up in different ways depending on what will work best at the time. It all depends on where you are, what’s available to use, ( trees, fence posts etc…) how strong the wind is, if it’s for sun defence or rain defence, how much ( if any ) of your tent you want to cover and how to move it forwards / sideways once it’s up.
Once it “ clicks “ it gets a LOT easier. :thumb2
You’ve managed to get it up now so you’re partially there. :thumb2:clap

Thanks Udders, I appreciate the advice and offer of help.
I've had a few lovely people say they would be kind enough to come and help me which has set me thinking, maybe we could have a 'Help the clown' weekend at Dent some time. :D
