Tradition would put this on 22nd May. I was unimpressed with the new owners at the Chequers, so how about a return to the King Billy, or - we could try somewhere new

Same here, very unimpressed with the food at the Chequers plus the gobby Chef telling us what we should and shouldn't do when it comes to payment and then implying we were trying to rip him off.

I'm happy to return to the King Billy or we could try the Red Lion in Brightwell cum Sotwell again?

Sounds good to me and agree wholeheartedly with Possu, the chef was a spanner.

Either would be fine The Red Lion has a nice garden if the weather is nice.

Shame about the Chequers - it used to be my favourite pub but after the last experience I am in no hurry to return.

The Red Lion gets my vote for our next gathering, and that leads me to another question: could we possibly meet a week later, i.e. on Thursday 29th May 2014?

I have a company meeting cum dinner on the 22nd and wouldn't want to miss out on free food...
