6 days in France 🇫🇷 in Sept 25

Crit air problems? It's cheap as chips to get one...less than a fiver. Easy to do and it lasts for the life of the vehicle. Just make sure you use the office .gouv website rather than the many that will charge 30€ to order one for you....

although some with older bikes won't be able to get a high enough number to enter the zones, so Le Havre port will be out of bounds and my alternative route to Ouistreham can be used

Can’t access past the ‘apply’ link on the official website on my MacBook. Am I doing anything wrong?

I had the same problem. Look at the top right and make sure you’ve clicked to register a foreign vehicle.

Tried several times but website a complete blank after clicking that.
Went on my iPhone and completed details on there instead.

If after good roads, I would head towards Limoges. Then anything East and South is good. Clermont, Le Puy, Aurillac area.
Suppose it depends what you like, for me there has to loads of bends and elevation changes.
I have had many a good ride on varying roads in the Parc naturel régional des Volcans d'Auvergne which is around 1.5hours from my last house. Little traffic., friendly folks and fantastic scenery.
Well, 7 days to go before departure and the die has been cast

Auvergne it is

Routes and accommodation has been sorted …thanks to @ikkje …he’s the expert planner and I am the lazy git

Main gig is 3 nights in Salers (of dual purpose cattle breed fame) in the old town, in a charming Apartment in a medieval house

Other architectural gems have been booked on the way up and down - one in an old abbey I am told - we like culture

Mixture of air B&B and Booking.com - some hotels and others self catering

We’re taking our midi adventure bikes too - Tenere 700 for me and Tuareg 660 for Ikkje

Hopefully fair winds will follow us and looking forward to exploring the Volcans region again

Thanks for all your suggestions and they are all much appreciated

Might bump into you along the way albeit France is a big place 🤣🤣🤣
am heading down with another tosser leaving on Sunday 28th

Seems not; it all went a bit quiet on the UK front and no-one was able to join so I have teamed up with another Tosser for another foodie tour of France. Leaving on Sunday 28th Setpember and making a big circular tour Northern France and the higher end Logis Restaurants....good grub, hopefully the weather holds out a bit, and back on the following Saturday. Already planning 2026 and have 3 trips lined up - France 90 days, Eifel 4 days and would like a UK trip as well. Lets see
