I've just booked my gsa into vines for its 6000 service with brake fluid, when l asked how much the guy then said that that will be 240 ish on the day.

What have other ppl paid?

6K service on the XR inc brake fluid was £189 at Marshalls

I know its a different bike but filter oil and brake fluid etc and labour should not be that much different

Hi

My GSA is going in for 12K service and I was quoted £230, but I'm supplying my own oil.

If you can source it from somewhere like the Amazon link of a few weeks ago, there can be quite a saving.

I've also changed the rear brake pads prior to the service this time, a five minute job. Last year they charged £7.50 + VAT, so another small saving.

Bill

Mine is going in on Thursday for its first annual service with fluid change (think this will be the same as the 6,000 mile?). I was quoted £196 @ Williams Manchester

Mine is going in to North Oxford Garage next week; I was quoted £235
I think they will also try to charge me extra for a loan bike.

If it's only the 6k service then why not wait? It's only about 1 hour which will save you the £12 it costs for the courtesy bike insurance plus you can take a flask to fill up with free coffee and don't forget a bag to stick all the free biscuits and cans of Lilt in :thumby:

I didn't know it was such a quick job. I had imagined a team of German trained experts scrutinising every nut and bolt, whilst a second team of geeks, dressed in pristine lab coats, downloaded billions of bits and bytes of information from the bike's telemetry and tailored my machine's responses to my riding style.
Now I'm worried it is going to get the half-interested attention of a spotty apprentice whilst I choose between latte and cappucino.

PS go for the latte with a triple choc biscuit or book a demo ride (make sure you take your licence) and do the Charlbury TT :D

Ah , sorry will delete , sense of humour failure here !

On a separate note, for my bikes I've found the guys at Northampton about 20% cheaper than North Oxford. You might think they would all be on fixed scales for servicing heh ? Baffling
