6000 service

Recently purchased an 2nd hand 1150GS with ABS and its now due the 6K.

Has anyone an update on the service costs and customer committment by SPC and Vines of Guildford (or other dealer in SE) as I want a good old look in the horses mouth, by a dealer in the first instance. I have done my searches and opinions seem to be varied.

Thereafter I think I'll diy some of the works or contact some of the _ossers in here to take my dosh judging by the tone of some so far.

I've heard lots of nice things about CW in Dorchester from fellow GS riders, so next time I need anything I will be making my round trip for service/parts etc a little further afield than previously.

I took a ride down to Dorchester recently and paid them a quick visit, coupled with some fun fording and off-roading around the region en-route.

They seem like a good team with a friendly and positive attitude towards customers, and the atmosphere and ambience were reassuring. The workshop staff had some pleasant banter and nobody seemed stressed out, inept, or full of their own self-importance like some places I have encountered.

If the customer service really is as it seems, the ride will be worth it.

I had my 6k service done by CW last week and cannot praise them enough. They even offered to clean my bike afterwards!
Not the cheapest, but the level of service is worth every penny. Oh an most importantly the bike is running much better for having a couple of software updates.
I live in Coventry, if that adds any weight to my decision to use CW .

I asked for info on this but chanced SPC after they confirmed no charge for working around the H&B bars (about £90 less than Vines quoted me!). If you don’t ask you don’t get...

They also checked recalls for me and back signed the service manual as I had receipts from 600-mile service but no stamp.

Big to Greg and the team at SPC - I will certainly go back.

A few weeks ago a few threads were reporting water in the RID, which caused me to look and see the worst! All will be done under guarantee so if you’re coming up to the 2 years it may be worth having a close look now!
