Looking at a R100GS but I'm a bit worried I might be a bit big at 6'2" and about 18ish stone, Any big boys on here give me some advice please.

I'm 6ft and 18ish stone (my power to weight ratio is fecked) I don't have any issues with fit and comfort on the bike, but I'm only a 30inch inside leg. The previous owner, my brother in law was probably your size, he had no comfort or fit issues either. My bike has a Hagon rear shock with a batfastard spring fitted.

You can always get the pegs lowered if you're worried about leg room.

Go for it. You won't look back!*

because the wind blast will break your neck over 80.

seriously though, if its the post 1990 model with roo bars and fairing you can get larger screens to take the wind off your head. Parabellum do a barn door type that looks as big as that on an RT

The footpeg position is an issue but lowered footpegs are the way to go and maybe bar risers as well.

These pegs move the position 1" down and slightly back. Makes a big difference to the rather bizarre standard setup

Where did you get them from Rob ?

I have the same as Rob, got them from Motobau.de.

They really make a difference, particularly with bar risers (which I also have) and I would go so far as to say that my G/S is now at least as comfortable as my 1200 adv, in fact maybe more so as the PD solo seat is wayyy more comfortable.

The only slight downside is that it is now quite easy to ground the pegs when you are "pressing on" :green gri

What pegs are they Rob ?

I'm 6'2" with long legs and have had no fit or comfort issues for years. When the foam expired on the original seat I had it redone with memory foam and raised about 40mm at the same time which helps reduce the bend in the aging knee joints.

I also have the the Motobau pegs which are good if you have size 13 feet in motocross boots - I also have a shortened gear lever.

On a slightly different vein...the rear brake pedal is sometimes difficult to apply.... anyone recommend a brake pedal extender ( outwards ) ?

I just bought and fitted one, very good, I will now try and remember where I got it from :D

..................................................................................might have been BAMW, not sure.

I think Touralich have a little bit of checker plate and a bolt for about 20 quid, or you can make your own .

I made one which is longer and wider, but the sky id the limit, if you spent long enough you could probably make one that would let you use the brake with these fancy overpriced footrests that everyone seems to want to fit.:D

I made my own but even now that I can get some some pressure on the pedal the slowing effect is minimal. Apparently softer linings improve things
