After shoving a scrum round a field for 15yrs my back is fucked. Along with a few other bits and pieces. I have no desire to sleep on the ground for my up coming trip to Morocco so I am looking for a good camp bed/sleeping arrangement. Camping will be a last resort but if I have to I want to be comfortable.

I have not finalised my destination yet Fanum. That will depend on how much time i have. I'm bringing a tent as a back up option as I always do but actually have only used on a handful of occasions over the years. Some ukgsers may chime in here and attest to how soundly I sleep indoors while they ly awake waiting for the thunderous noise to cease. Anyway I think if I have a good bed I may use the tent more often.

No need for a tent,7 of us went 2? yr's ago,we never had trouble finding a bed where ever we ended up too,
although it did come close to it twice i believe !!
 
Camping all day long. Nobody else's fleas and sex stains, total comfort and fresh air.

Exped down mat or similar.

Don't listen to Fanum , he's a cheap hotel slag.:D
 
If space/size is not a consideration you could look at what night anglers use, bedchairs. Known also as carp fishing bedchairs. Nash make the best and they're incredibly supportive and comfortable. See here

They're great if he's traveling to morocco in a van ?
 
Most tents are no longer than 225cm long (sleeping compartment) and most have a sloping back end.

I'm 6' 3" and lying on my 7.5cm Megamat just about miss the sloping back of my 220cm Hilleberg.

If I was 12-15cm off the ground the tent would be too short.

Downmat or Megamat ... you can't go wrong really! ;)
