A long way from where I started!
Whats it like off road? And I mean, properly off road, not a nicely graded byway.

Pics would help...

I've had the Adv properly off road, that was almost cruel to it, and to be fair, was pretty tricky. I also have a Ktm 525Mxc but thats just too easy really, so, somwhere in between is????

I found the front a bit prone to 'tuck under' and it can be a bit 'loose' at the front end on very bumpy loose stuff (eg crossing river beds [wet or dry]).

But there isn't anywhere you could ride your 525 MXC that the Dakar wont go. Really. You'll just sweat more.

They are heavy for an Off Road bike - but managable for those long in the legs.

Aftermarket pipes can help with the low down grunt and there's plenty of power there.

Should be plenty of pics in the Off Road section. BMW off road course uses them - but the going isn't that extreme.

No problems.

But the locals didn't seem to be impressed !!

We did a 3000mile tour on good and bad roads, on some roads I really had the bike working hard on rocks and at speed, only problem was a dented front rim.
