650 GS Fuel gauge/sender issues

OK so on the 650 (800) I've replaced fuel pump and filter plus pump controller, bike going really well now. Only issue is that the fuel gauge always reads around half full and range 100m until brimmed when it goes to 130m (bit low). Sender moves freely so a bit stumped, even tried a spare sender and same thing. Any ideas?

Also noticed even tightening pump assembly with new seal using the BMW tool, fuel still weeps out - should I just tighten the large ring even further - any risk of damaging anything doing that?

Morning Ian. Mine does exactly the same and always has. I have Motoscan and I think there is some calibration in it but I have never bothered as I always reset the trip meter and have a mileage countdown on my sat nav. I normally start panicking at 220 miles or more and that has always been fine.

OOh thanks, that came through on my new phone that some nice chap sold me!!!

Really annoying though as that was one of the bits that was working fine beforehand, ill keep fiddling with it and see if i can get it to work - assume if I remove the fuel pump/sender assembly and move the level sensor if it doesn't change the reading at least i'll know its not sticking!!!
