Good afternoon , is it possible to power a 660 with a 6volt supply ( old Brit bike electrics ) via the UBS port ? I think you have to reduce the 6 volts suitable for the UBS port & somehow fool it to show the normal screen .

Or is this all just wish full thinking .

Cheers

EASY AND CHEAP :thumb2

TBH you probably don't even need that....USB output is 5.4v usually....I really doubt that a properly regulated 6v will bother the unit (EDIT....old Brit bike :blast) , but to be on the safe side, use one if you want to :thumb2

Will an old Brit bike make it far enough to require a sat nav :D
Perhaps not , but all you need is a mobile phone , credit card & recovery insurance . Provisional plan is to travel next August 2014 to Pomerania in Poland via Ijmuiden for a VMCC type rally.

Idea is to try & take the shortest route , hence the GPS would be useful.

Choice of bike still to be determined ; a 1950 Royal Enfield 350 Model G , a 1959 Puch SGS 250 or a 1964 BMW 600 R60/2 . All have 6 volt electrics .

Surely just wiring the bike cradle to the battery, the cradle will reduce the power to the correct voltage??

Perhaps an email to Garmin might be in order..
