No....

Perhaps a bit of clarifying is needed on my previous posting.:nenau

The works truck is a 24 volts. The other guy and I wanted to put a radio in as the old one was shagged. We bought the ALDI one with bluetooth as the boss wanted to use his phone.,,:bounce1

The only 12 volt output we found was the cigarette lighter socket. We took the power out from the terminals underneath that and ran a wire to memory on radio, otherwise it was a case of retuning all the time after the power was switched off.:eek

Hope this adds to the confusion.

Well it might.

I mean you might pinch your finger/thumb as you plug it in...

You might hit your knee on the steering wheel...

You might bang your head on the door sill as you get in...

All are possible... :nenau :blast

I intend to laugh at you when you have to pretend to enjoy your large bowl of pasty grey porridge sludge tomorrow.

I shall deride you sir, then I shall heap scorn upon you.

So there.

:D

The 2610 will run on 24v.

However, most 24v vehicles use 2 x 12v batteries. You could always install a fag-ash lighter socket and wire its -ve terminal to earth and its +ve terminal to the +ve terminal of the battery which has its -ve terminal connected to earth (assuming a negative earth vehicle).

:hammer

And intend Sir is all you will be able to.

For I am ensconced in Chateau Batty enjoying my convalescence/half term break and will not return to the cafe of Ace's whereupon oats are added to full fat milk, double cream and a shovel of brown sugar until Feb by which time I should have been granted my wings back.

Derision and scorn will have to wait until then :D

I trust that you will be returning to us half the man that you used to be?
How's it going big man ? :)

It's pointless posting a picture- It's in urban camo finish so you wouldn't be able to see it.

The cig socket is 24v - still not had the nerve to plug it in yet.

Trying to plug it in is like trying to push two magnets together - I just can't do it for fear of it costing big time. I don't trust user manuals. :blast

Run up the donkey so that the system is charging. Probe the socket with a voltmeter and see what it's actually at.

The Garmin book say 24v is OK!

Greg

24volts

Mr S, put the unit in a bucket of water before you plug it in, this will prevent it bursting into flames and just boil the water and at least then you
can add a tea bag and have a supp while you contemplate what might have been!.

Steptoes new horse and opps, no wrong

How about a picture of this ex kgb special forces golf buggy before it goes up in flames?.
