Will a standard 660 work in a NAV IV BMW mount? Will the zoom in and out buttons work?

I have a Nav III at the moment and that as you know is basically the same as the 2820, i think only the firmware is different.

Thanks for any info :)

EDIT: I know the earphone socket will be not available.

It should work but I suspect that the hard buttons on the NavIV mount won't do anything for the 660.

I'm saying this on the basis of using my NavIV in the car with a Zumo 660 car mount and previous understanding of how a 2610 would power up in a NavII mount and 2820 in a NavIII mount but the buttons wouldn't do anything.

Cheers Mike, i'll have a proper Google later on. I suspect your right about the buttons not working with a standard 660.

Same question, but in reverse - does anyone know if a Nav IV will work in a Zumo 660 mount? I've got the BMW cradle mounted on my GSA but would like to be able to use the Nav IV on other bikes without dismantling, so I'm looking at buying a Zumo 660 mount for this purpose.

If it works in a Zumo 660 car mount then logically you might expect it to work in a Zumo 660 motorcycle mount, no.....? :nenau

the BMW nav IV will work in a standard mount, as it is just that a mount, however you do need the Zumo Connector that comes in the standard kit as the TT mount is just a metal lockable cage for want of a better description, you put the cradle with the connectors that comes with the unit into the cage and hey presto it works, or you just mount the garmin cradle with a ram mount and clip the nav unit into it.
As far as the 660 in the BMW cradle is concerned, it does not with the 2610/Bmw nav II or the 2820/BMW Nav III the cradle will power up but none of the buttons work however that is because there is an extra connector on the power cable that plugs into the cradle, and the wiring in the cable is different.

I dont think that is the case with the 660 so you may be lucky, I would suggest you see if there is someone that can test it for you, there must be some here who have the NAV IV and would be able to test a standard 660 in the unit to see if it works, I have a suspision that it wont but its worth a try.

I seem to have the reverse poser.
When my 1200GSA was nicked it left me with a Navigator IV and no mount.
Now I have a new bike, 1150GS, is it worth trying to find the Navigator IV mount or just use a Garmin 660 mount (or touratech type)?

Thanks
