Any one tried the traffic receiver on their GPS?

I was recommended getting a Garmin gtm12 traffic receiver, paid £12 for a used one on fleabay. Works really well with up to date delays on route, indicating delay in minutes and distance. very accurate and free too. Will re-route if required to avoid delay. Traffic conditions also show as green amber or red depending on congestion.

Yes, I use the one that came bundled with my nüvi 760 with my BMW Navigator IV (a Zumo 660 in a posh frock) in my car. The traffic function works very well and offers more options than it does on the nüvi.

Yup. They were on offer on here a couple of years ago. It sits silently waiting in Fife.
Leaps into action when heading dahn sarf.

It works on the M90 and should work on the A92 up to Dundee. I certainly remember seeing blue Trafficmaster cameras on that route.

Paid the same for a new one last year. Someone on here spotted an ebay seller knocking them out cheap. Has been sitting in my box of bits since but having just bought and fitted a 660 it's now on the bike.

Whilst of limited use on the bike, can usually filter though traffic, at the price it's worth having for information purposes. Covers France as well as the UK, handy as I'm off there in 3 weeks time.

I have the GTM12 receiver that plugs into the mini usb socket on the back of the holder, anyone know if you can use the one that is in line with the power lead?

Yes, that's the one I'm using with my Zumo 660 / Nav IV in my car. You can obviously only use it with a car mount which has the port for the power/data connector.

On the contrary, I'm using my GTM12 with the bike lead for my 660. Plugs into the trailing mini USB socket and works as intended.

Mike, you may have it confused with the GTM21. This needs to plug into the car cradle.

Got one fitted to the Zumo 660 on the bike (using the trailing USB lead wrapped up with self amalgamating tape). It's the German version, so doubt it works in neighbouring countries without an additional licence.

It's a pity I can't easily disconnect it when I transfer the Zumo to a hired Motorhome/Car, etc.

Buy a GTM21 which is the power lead with traffic antenna built in. I have one for my Nuvi 765T that works with the Zumo car cradle.

I also have a GTM10 kicking around that I'll be eBaying shortly along with my SP2720. All three of my traffic antennas seem to include lifetime subscriptions to UK and France, handy as those are the two countries in which I do most of my riding :)
