Update/9 to 11th

9th
The Ktm boys on our way to the hotel, stopped of at another bike shop just prior to it,Asked the question about tyres, yes he replyed we have them in stock at our other shop on jerez,so after deliberation they decided after sleeping they would ride down there and we would follow/meet at Algeciras.
I was going to go with them but after sleeping on it decided to leave them to it !,but stay behind with the group as point of conntact for them and the tyre place.
The hotel basment rumbled to the KTMS,everyone grabbed the furniture as earthquake thought's were upon them,(noisy sods, but a beautifull noise:D).

They were duped.GS TO THE RESCUE:D:D
We waited,Salamanca tyres were in! Jon also bought a spare.
Adrian rang, they only have a single tyre in the place,So off the party go to the tyre man, euros parted with, strapped to my bike and off we go.
Agree to meet in Algecirs,we duly made our way down there, only to drive straight in to the port!.after a few phone calls of where are you.we meet.
The ferry seems to be if you want the next one 111 e,if you want the 17-30 54euro,54 euro won.Thats returns aswell.

Seuta.
Off the ferry, onto the road follow signage for the border.how easy can it be!!
KTM BOYS GET LOST:confused:.
After a disscussion,we say sod umm, theres only one way to go,the LONG wait at the border was nice,WE HAVE SO MANY FRIENDS!!.
The phone rings, yes its them,we will soon be there we have had a POLICE ESCORT:eek:
Apparently, they went past him so many times,he took them under his wing Haaaaaaa.
They managed to keep up with his moped,so tyre ware was not a problem:rolleyes:.

THE KING VISTED US

Thursday morning,
We left Tetouan for Fez,via Cheftouan,We did this as we are to follow a Wikiloc route, which is part road and allot of off road gravel route. The ride down was great fun as we rattled along the hard gravel road, exept for the Ktm's who left us in clouds of dust.i did try to keep up but failed to do so,
Some of the group who had not done off roading before did well and managed to keep upright, with there confidence gaining.
This route took us down and around a very big lake,we did lose ourselves as some of the places we went through had no names atall, but every time we stopped there was someone beside us in minutes.

On entering Fez,we appeared to enter it through the back passage, having routing by Sucket and See.we had no hotel booked,we plumped for the first hotel on the Garmin, which happened to be another Ibis, route redirected we headed there,we were meet by a fixer ata the carpark who infirmed us it was full, being the cynical person i am,i checked,he was right.
So we followed him,he hopped on to the Gs and off we went.

The hotel was nice but expensive at 30 Euro pp,nice place but for what we got it was expensive,we did have brekky included.Showers taken, our fixer took us to a very nice place for evening food, which was actualy very nice and plenty of it for 100 Dirhams.
Our brekky was okish,we did ask for another coffee but this was extra!!

Here endith another days report

Should point out that in Fez.we did try to find a more cheaper hotel after the fixer took us to his hotel,Gary and i did a quick run around on feet,i took my jacket off before running:D,but Gary being the fitness nut did not,so he ran around in his Rally 2 suit.!!

We asked eventualy why all hotels were full,

The King was in town.

He did ask for an interview but we declined,as we were 7 hot sweaty Tossers.:D

An overall report, with pictures to follow later

I have a very poor memory,i forget things easily,so if i miss things or days i do apolagise to you and my fellow tossers.

I had every intention to do a report every night, but time waits for no man and every time we stopped it was late,we were knackered,or i just couldent be bothered.

After our stay in Fez,we rode out out of town to a fan fare of ppl waving to us,ppl sweeping the roads, police saluting us,as we rode pass,We passed through a town,i did the royal wave, they waved back,we were famous.
On we went bound for Erfoud,we passed a motorcyclist,(Toursrus chappie)he had a flat rear,we helped him with our gear although he had,had one go his self,we passed on our knowledge, and filled his rear tyre with Halfords tyre filler.Oops tyre sensors now pooped.
We were heading for a hotel in the desert that Millard knew,it was ,late, getting dark,we were tired,i saw in the distance a hill, brake lights came on,but thought nothing if it as they were some distance in front,as i crested it,sand had blown across it,no chance for me,down i went, bike on leg hurts, but nothing broken,
We all decide to turn around as its dark and have no chance of finding the hotel,
Stupid driving in the dark,on unfamilar roads,in to Erfoud we go,Adrian stuck in hotels on sat nav and off we went,we struck lucky, hotel with pool appeared like a shaft of light,Good food, swimming pool, evening meal, brekkiy exelent.
Next morning we left for the Desert again, much easier to see the sand this time, off the road we go,to play in the sand and hard gravel, needless to say it was very dusty and to overtake each other was pointless.i did come up behind a lowloader truck that chucked up so much sandy crap, visibility past was nill,i hang back.off the track we go to a hotel for coffee,do the usual in the sand Jon buried the Gs on the flat and took the obligatory photo, all by itself.
Off we go again, into the sand,i fell again.its like trying to hold a tank up but having no chance,
The Ktms are in there eliment,i wont comment on them coz i have a Gs,
On the route we passed a road gang making a mud road,i catch up,Adrian has a punture as we exit on to road, rather than repair the puncture he sticks on a NEW tyre !!.i have a bimbble around a village next to us,kids are every ware as the tyre is changed,Adrian being the generous person he is gives a kid a present,a Ktm tyre,no doubt by now some gulliable person has bought a knackered tyre.
Thats it for now.As i said pictures will be uploaded, when of the Naffing Cap Finistere.

The Ferry home........

Here we are on the ferry on the way home. Half of the gang are asleep, well it is 4pm and it has been a long two weeks.:D

I have really enjoyed my time here and given a chance would love to come back and see more.
I recon we have covered about 3500 miles and during that time we have spent just under £1k which includes all food, fuel, beer and accomidation. Add to that ferry crossing to Spain, green card and a set of tyres (2 rear tyres if you are a KTM:augie) and I recon that isn't bad.

Loads of story's to tell, like lost gloves, stream crossings, finding gorges that aren't on any maps, new nick names. Photos you ask. Yes I have a few (including in-crimindating ones) and when we have some time (and access to them) we will post them up (and hopefully abit of video for those people who have fancy all singing and dancing phones)

If you ever get the chance to come over here then do it. It an incrediable place that is changing. Houses in the middle of nowhere with with Sat disks on the roof, kids with mobile phones. Don't get me wrong, it is still a very poor country and will remain so for a long time, but they do now know how to build a western style hotel and decent tarmac (but try and find a few gravel roads to taste the country)

Bikes of course have been great. We have only had one fork seal fail (on an oldish bike) and one head light bulb. Ideal for the long ride down here and back, but a little heavy to play in the sand.

So, you have a bike and helmet, what's stopping you?????
