I've recently sold my 1150 adv and am thinking of an 800GS - I seem to find numerous threads with inherent design probs with this bike - chains/sprockets/bearings/fuel tanks/axles/clutches/engines...

Are the later (2009 on ) bikes any better in this respect ?? I plan to purchase end Feb time and I admit I'm not getting a warm feeling,
maybe better going for the 1200 gsadv as originally intended :nenau

In terms of "issues" from what I've read the 800 / 650 seem to be miles better than the 1200, but that may be down to the volume of 1200's sold compared to the 800.

The F800GS has far far fewer 'issues' than ever the 1200's have had :thumb

Mine's on 14k with no issues whatsoever.

Why not ask BMW how many bikes they've sold, and then count the number of riders reporting issues on here. I think (hope) you'd be surprised!

Don't forget the recalls have sorted most of the repeat grumbles - aside from the chain but then are you gonna let a £100 part put you off?
