80g/s TKC 70s anyone?

Needed another set of Enduro 3's for the G/S in a hurry as my just retired brother decided to drop in from Scotland for a extended holiday and a bit of trail riding.
At a weeks notice, as usual.

Tried to order Enduro 3s , Distanzas, Mitas E07'S but nothing in stock in G/S sizes, " should be in around mid May or June" . Should be, not will be------.
But Dunlop came to the rescue with a set of 604's , in stock in Adelaide.

First surprise was the price - just about half the ask for the Metz's or Avon's.

Second surprise was how good they are, much better than my recollection of the last set, which was a good few years ago.

I dont know if Dunlop have changed them since I last tried them, but the front is much more rounded than I remembered and initially felt a bit strange.
But after a couple of weeks, 2000 km and settling on 30/33 psi they have bedded in nicely, and are wearing well.

Turn in is light but still feels planted, they adsorb minor bumps better than the Enduro 3's, and generally seem to suit the bike quite well.
As you would expect gravel grip is down on the 50/50 Enduro 3s, about on par with the Anekeey 3's on my F650. but more than adequate for the modest pace I set myself on gravel.

I managed to run into a shower today and they felt OK on wet spray seal, but I always back right off in the wet as the local back roads I use have extremely variable grip and I allow for the worst, so not a real test for those who have to keep pace with main road traffic.

The Dunlop's dont get a good press, but most reviews are a few years old now and might not reflect the current tires - IMHO they are at least on par with Tourances, Scorpions and Shinko 705's , and the low price I paid was just a bonus.

Thanks for the report - I had almost forgotton about Dunlop. Good to have another alternative in the bank........
