850 GS Lacking Power at Speed.

I thought that I had resolved this issue last month when I carried out a Motronic reset. Before I carried out the reset my bike would only rev up to 5500rpm in all gears, now it will rev up to 7500rpm but not in 4th or 5th gear. The limit the bike will rev to is intermittent in that it is not a constant level before running out of breath. Maximum speed I can get to is between 85 and 90mph.
The bike has done 13500 miles and was serviced 1000 miles ago by an independent.
I have carried out various searches but have not reached anything conclusive as to rectifying the problem.
Any help would be gratefully received

Is your clutch cable adjusted correctly? This can feel like a power lag at the top end - you should hear it too .

I've just been having some serious problems with my 1150 (although running much worse than yours).

The fuel pipe coming out of the fuel pump housed inside the tank was split. Each time the throttle was opened at higher revs, the extra fuel was just fed back into the tank.

Maybe unlikely with yours but still worth a check I'd say.
