im currently having starter motor check out (just because it is VERY noisy when turning bike over) although as steve says it has only just been rebuilt.
probably nothing to do with the starting problem, but that stands out to me.

Peep me old mate,
Your Battery checks out. Now the charging system?/ OK ?
When you do get the Bike Running and it is Warm. By moving the "choke lever" and it is back at rest ( not off) does the Revs pick- up? See a lot of Folk Balance the Bodies ok. But don't set up the "choke" throttle lifter / fast iddle?
Also when running just touch the side stand down a bit, like one finger on it? Does it cut out. Wiggle the switch does it cut out? No. The side stand switch is ok then..yes I know they give problem but the Previous owner had none.
Which brings me back to "The age old question"..? What have YOU done to the bike since the old owner handed it over? Sorry if I offend you. But I have had bikes and their Riders pop in with similar problems. Because they cleaned something? Washed this bit? Put fuel lines on wrong after having the tank off?( not your prob by the way) All that sought of stuff? It's True and so easy to do with a new bike.
Grab the old owner ( who seams a nice bloke) and start the bike ( COLD) infront of him.
Many new owners just don't treat the Lady the same. Poor thing is terrified of being Burnt? Hee, hee. Keep in touch. Bigjim.

found it on wiring diagram but no location
Not a complete Bugger me not...
anyway
You have got it starting and Riding ok ? Still faulting with electrics? Starter motor sounded stuffed? They are BIG Power Drain when not working propper. If that's the case pick a Nice Local Loop and go and discover all about Gs ing. Keep cool and pleased to help.

The sensor is on the top of the engine off side hidden behind some breather pipes. If you replace it get a new alloy washer aswell, one dosent come with it. the spare ones that come with a bm oil filter fit though.

Bloody hell - how the hell did it get you home? The Starter motor was still under guarantee so I hope you claimed.I knew the fuel filter was due for replacement - there was a new one in the pile of bits.i find out tomorrow for sure but had to give it to BGM in kent to sort out. had starter rebuilt again as previous rebuild fell apart (literally) and was shorting out. left hand cylinder gasget has blown badly, so will have both replaced. starting fault as predicted here by KTMMARKis very proberbly HALL sensor . oh and Brian thinks its still running origial fuel filter as current one has turned itsself inside out and needs rear pads...........thats it ....
may have some change from £600??? for some tissues
unlucky hey
It was good to put a face to the name - pity about your puncture though. Peepingtom - you're not having much luck are you. What time did you get home last night? It was good to put a face to the name - pity about your puncture though.
Had a good but uneventful run home myself - eventually got in at 2.30am this morning.![]()
