Hi there,

I've just discovered that my oil pressure switch seems to be leaking oil.

this is perhaps a silly question but if I simply replace the switch will the oil leak be fixed or are there other bits I would also need?

The oil seems to be coming from the switch itself rather than the housing.

Here's a picture of the leak:

Thanks for any help!

Normal way of leaking - No drama just replace the switch.

Pressure washed my bike today, and it looks like my pressure switch is leaking .

Will change the OPS; is there anything else that I should change? A washer or is it reusable? I cannot find the part code for this on realoemparts.com.

Also, judging from the photos, could this issue make that kind of leak? Even behind the cylinder head?

Will keep an eye on this.

Thanks,
Dan.

Sorry for this Dan but I'm sort of glad you have a leak as from your photo's, in particular the last one, I can see the boss next to the fins is not a broken off stud on my bike but is normal :)

sorry mate, I did not understand anything :)

PS: I am glad I have a leak too :)

After I washed my bike yesterday, all was good, running ok; this morning, it started and then stopped after 50m of running... I replaced the insulator on the wire going from the oil bulb because it was bad from the engine heat and all; could that be the problem of not running? Is the oil pressure switch a safety component so that the engine does not run if it's going out of oil or oil pressure?

After washing, I think water got to the alternator belt, I could hear it make that specific sound for about 5 seconds after starting, then everything was ok... I will try to see if any error codes appear, but I'm guessing it's the HES or the switch...

Thanks,
Dan.
