950 se on Ebay...

Hi I was the one that bid to £4600 mainly because of the akros, alarm and that it had been run in with 1st service out the way. Spoke to guy and he seemed friendly. BUT thought bit of shell building was going on so I too am after one of those new one's. Has anyone managed to better the £5995??? few extras etc and from where? I did 2 test rides on a gs covering 400 miles in total and on the way home I stopped at a general bike dealer where I saw a chap on his KTM adventure. I said that sounds good and he said......you'd better take it for a spin then (more trusting than me) so I ripped his arm off and hooned up the road leaving him with my friends bike keys ass securuty:)!!! Did about 2-3 miles on it and had more fun than in the 400 miles on the gs. I just dont find the front end as striking on it so for me the super enduro is the best choice as I could slap a screen on that easy enough if I ever wanted to do some distance. I ride a honda xr at present and this apparently is as easy to move about just with wet your pants power on tap. I will get one despite bein shocked at 6"2 not being able to flat foot it. For those of you who have just heard its big, trust me it really is!!! Like a special bike for the 7ft club. I'll wait for the 58 plate I think as I have it on good authority that there are more about than dealers have you believe. Haggle! as its ktm that have discounted them to clear bikes unsold elsewhere in the world, not the dealer!!! If their margin was as small as they claim they wouldnt be in business. R

I'm 5'10" & am nowhere near flatfooting the SE. It's an easy bike to handle & only starts to make sense offroad if you open it up a bit. Tyres can be a limiting factor, I'll be fitting a Karoo (not Karoo-T) soon to see how it compares to the 908RR that I've been running for the past 4,000 miles.

Well someone got it for £4700, so about £1300 less than the 'deals'.

FWIW Fowlers claim not to have a SE now, so whether their deals are over or it was just an unhelpful salesman my mate spoke to I dont know.

Def don't fit a Karoo-T, Possu. The SE will destry it. Mine on the GS is coming off today after about 500 miles. Its lots half its tread (mostly Welsh trails) (no, I don't undertsand that wear either) and starting delaminating, ok from being ridden overloaded and too quickly home on the motorway, so my fault I expect.

(alternatively it may just have aged whilst laid up in the garage............:augie)

Hey Possu - I tried the Karoo on the HP and really wasn't very impressed. Didn't feel good on the road, didn't feel particularly special off-road and definitely didn't last long! Just my 0.02p worth.

Now I better get out of this orange place! :augie

Well one of us has been lied to??? I spoke to fowlers this morning and they claim to have 3 on the way?? Also some shops say 6 month warranty, some a year and others the full road 2year warranty. Can any owners sged some light on what they got? I heard it is not classed as off road ktm so there is only the road range which should be 2 years? Think its one of those grey area bikes where nobody really knows or is willing to say? Oh and do they come with rear foot pegs as some say yes and others no. R

Got the Karoo for about £48, so it's worth a go at that price. The 908RR is £78.... Only one way to find out. I think my smoother riding style will ensure it lasts longer than they do on your HP2 , hampered by your limited ability.... :augie :D

When you say you dont find the front striking are you talking about looks?

If so have you seen the adventures with the high guard fitted instead of a low one. They look 'gnarly' has our amercan cousins would say :thumb

Yes I was refering to looks but thats just my personal opinion but i must admit that that one looks nice "gnarly" as you say they say:) Wanted something different and the super enduro ticked all the boxes for me. I bought one today but they wouldnt throw much in, anything in fact:( I get it next monday on a 58 plate. Cant wait but i'll have to stuff my boots with cardboard or wear pin stripes to give the illusion my legs are longer. Im after some of the re-enforced acerbis handguards for it in the meantime, anyone know if they have a name? Barkbusters someone said?? Also any good alarm deals going? Regards.Richard

Premier in Didcot have a very clean 06 plated SE on 9,000 miles for £5,495 with handguards & stock bashplate. Doesn't like like it's ever been offroad at all.

Could be that there's a deal to be done, call Andy or Darren on 01865-519195 if interested.
