Made the shield last night & the washers this evening, pleased with the results:

Yes, with engine at full temperature, I can rest my bare hand on it for 5 seconds or more with no discomfort. Prior to that, I could feel the heat on my inner thigh whilst at traffic lights etc.

Made a prototype for Loz in time for his recent Portugal trip. Worked so well that he forgot about it, no heat at all.

Thinking of making another for the left that protects the shock reservoir from heat & stones thrown up by the rear wheel.

I doubt it, took me at least 5 hours, including making the washers, not financialy viable. I still have the cardboard template though, so it's possible. I may be prepared to cut out the plate, bend & drill, leaving you to finish off & supply fasteners etc.

Off to Spain Thursday on the SE, riding down through France, so too busy to think about it for the moment, have yet to pack etc.
