Got a very early Ammo Guard headlight cover from Steve at A Bike Thing. Very easy to fit and good quality. I have the mirror main lens and amber x headlight lens. I think they are due into stock very soon. A good alternative to the usual Touratech/Wunderlich offerings. Will try and get some better photos tomorrow before I head to the North West 200.

Thx for posting the pics. I think it looks great / very well integrated. This is something I have been contemplating fitting and would be very interested to hear how you get on with it - particularly whether there is any water ingress / condensation build up on the inside of the lens?

I’ll let you know Jez. I have a few hundred miles ahead of me next week up and down from work to the North West 200. Steve has said mine is pre production so we’ll see what it is like. Fit seems good .

I followed this part sice it was first announced and at that point there was a doubt about water and dust ingress. Was there any change since then?

It looks a bit like a garage door :D

Hate to admit it but I first thought it looked terrible , like a bit of corrugated cut steel until I read it properly and realised it was the door reflection :blast

Looks good out in daylight. Bike loaded and heading to Portrush for the North West 200.

Just be grateful his face wasn’t in the reflection! That would scare rats out of a ditch.

How much light is lost ?

Significant, especially if you don't have extra driving lights. So BM gives you a good set of lights and you go and dim the lights because they look good? I am sure a nice traffic cop could measure it with a Window Tint Meter:D

I like this thing but not with mirror finish. I see they have completely transparent option that would be great protection for my headlight so I could remove the one I use now. The only thing that still to be found out is the water and dust ingress but I guess that one only after few reviews from the members of this forum.

The mirror version is just bling, watched the YouTube vid. It seriously cuts the headlights effectiveness. Interestingly someone's asked Steve if the lense is scratch and UV coated, he's not answered the question! If it's just untreated perspex it won't last long. Couple of washes it will start to scratching and the sun will fade it in a year or so.

The Lonerider rider version is both.

ordered and paid for one months ago, delayed and delayed again. A bike thing reckon July delivery on these. The mirror thing looks bloody awful! Sorry

I was going to press the button on the pre-order, which said May, but my bike isn't due until next week, so thought I would wait and see rather than give them my money.

Flicked on last night, refreshed the page and yes, July.

I'll get something else.

The mirrored option defeats the object IMO, as it's probably the best OEM looking solution out there, apart from the ABT branding.
