Anyone any experience of this 'reluctant card' syndrome?

I've been using my 2610 for about 9 months. First thing I did was to bung a 2GB card in and haven't touched the slot since. That is, apart from after it got soaked on a trip in September and the display 'misted' slightly the next day so I followed someone's advice on here (PanEuropean?) and left it in an airing cupboard overnight, with the card out and the slot open. I don't remember there being any problem with the card going back in, and it's certainly worked fine since. Even the 'misting' has gone. (Thanks for the advice chaps!)

I'm going to the Picos area on Monday and thought I'd load some spare maps onto the 256 card as a back up. The 2GB card popped out with no problem. Gently trying as I might, I can't get the 256 card to go in far enough, so that the eject button moves out.

As the manual says, I didn't want to "apply excessive force, as this may damage the CF card and/or result in internal damage to the unit". I've made sure that the card is the right way round! The pins seem to be fine, with nothing bent.

I've finally got the 2GB card back in again after giving it a bit of a shove. It reads the maps ok.

Is this a case of "if it's not broke don't fix it" and leave well alone (but I'd quite like to carry a back-up map actually) or does anyone know of a solution to this please?

Ta muchly,
Penf
