So on Friday we’ll all be rocking up in Leenane :bounce1:bounce1

Dinner on Friday for residents will be the set menu. Non-residents can decide whether to have the set menu or something A La Carte. You can even dine in the bar if you so wish. Saturday night we’ll all have the set menu in the restaurant @ 20.00. The set menu on Saturday is €28 for non-residents. If you are a non-resident please let the hotel know before we head off on Saturday so they can make sure there's enough places set for everyone

The Saturday ride-out will leave from the front of the hotel at 09.30
It's 335km / 200mls and it's mainly roads that haven't been used on a Leenane event before
A briefing will be held outside the front door @ 09.15, if you wish to participate in the run please be there in time

In case you haven't been before, or you're old & forget stuff (like myself), there’s no longer petrol in Leenane. If you’re coming in from the Galway side I’d suggest Peacocks @ Maam Cross or Keane's in Maam itself. If you’re coming in from the Cong side either Top Oil as you leave Cong or Keane's in Maam. And if you’re coming from Clifden then either CircleK or Sweeney Oil in Clifden itself or CircleK in Kylemore (rumour has it this place might not be dispensing gasoline anymore, awaiting an update). There will be a fuel stop during the day for those with small tanks but it would be less stressful (for you :p) if you arrived at the start with a full tank

If people could have a read of this it might save the hassle we had last year :augie

It's this simple:

You have:
  • A Lead Rider - somebody who knows where you are going
  • A rear gunner/sweeper/tail-end Charlie
  • The other riders

How it works:
  • The Lead Rider and the tail-end Charlie NEVER change
  • At EVERY junction or turn, the rider #2 (immediately behind the Lead Rider) stops and points out the route to the following riders
  • As the tail-end Charlie approaches the junction/turn, the rider who has stopped rejoins immediately in front of the tail-end Charlie
  • The new rider immediately behind the Lead Rider stops at the next junction/turn etc etc
  • If the Lead Rider reaches a junction/turn and there is nobody behind him/her, the Lead Rider stops until rider #2 arrives. The Lead Rider then continues on the route leaving rider #2 to point the way

For those that are doing any of the photo rallies I can confirm we will be visiting Clifden LBS (IBA) and Robert Shaw memorial (DMTC)
