A Boxing Day ride around The Lake District

Last Boxing Day Sandra and I had a trundle round North Wales so this year we decided to have a change and headed north on the M6 to the Lakes. After a boring hour or so blast up the motorway we spent the day making a sort of figure of eight stopping at The Sticklebarn in Langdale for a spot of lunch.

1 ride every day to work and never get time to see places.thank god i went self employeed,let the good times roll i will now plot that route in gps and ride it

Lucky buggers. Kirriemuir area is encased in hard frost. Afraid its the car at the moment. Dont mind crashing that.

Looks nice. I went to the lakes in November (in the car) for the first time in years - forgot how good it was. Hadn't been because of the traffic etc but I reckon if you go out of season and use the minor roads it has plenty to offer.

In fact I might do a winter camp there soon

did most of these roads in September when i was down with the caravan but i am definitely going back on the bike at some point as that is some of the most beautiful scenery you will see anywhere
