I've been roped in with the local rugby club to help out. They were desperate and I get on well with with the bloke, so I didn't like to turn him down. :blast Part of the role involves keeping parents updated either via e-mail or texts.

I've been given an Excel spreadsheet of the whole squad with an e-mail address for each player, so if I write a single e-mail is there an easy way to send the same e-mail to everyone on the list? :nenau

We are using Microsoft Outlook 2003.

You should be able to import that list into excel eaqsily, unfortunately I don't have excel or outlook anymore so am unable to write a "how to do list"

Search and you shall be rewarded...

are the email address in there own cell ? (the wee individual box on a excel speadsheet)

If they are you could probably just highlight all the relevant cells copy them and then paste into the Send To bit of the email your sending ?

Import the excel file into your address book. (File, Import). You can then map the fields (Name, Address, Phone, email)

Then set up a distribution list in Outlook to include all the names that you import in. Each time you send an email you then email to the distribution list and Outlook does the rest.

Regards

Tom

Hi, you are probably better of spending a little time setting this up properly so that future mail shots can be accomplished easily with very few steps.
a tried and tested method is using mail merge
have a look at the website for ideas mailmerge

When you send the email put the addresses in the bcc box because otherwise you are giving everyone everybody else's email address.

we use googlegroups.com

Works really well, don't ask me how to set it up though!
