Some of you may have seen a brief advert for my F8 which I was going to put up for sale due to a tax bill !

Over the following days I used my Crosstourer to commute instead of the GS and I came to the conclusion that even with the well advertised problems I have had with the GS, I just can't get rid !

The Crosstourer is a fantastic bike but its not suited (IMO) for these wet, slimy, salty, dark and slippy winter Scottish roads.

So instead of selling the GS and then having to buy a dog to commute which wouldn't be a bike i really wanted, I decided to find the dosh elsewhere and keep the GS !

TBH its the most suited bike to these winter conditions, I don't think I could find another bike that gives me the confidence to ride in the winter and that alone makes it a silly decision to get rid, so I won't !

In the past I had a 650 Transalp and a 990 Tiger which were also good in the winter due to their soft(ish) power delivery, but those 2 bikes felt gutless in decent weather and I finally sold them.

The GS, although it struggles on motorways, 2 up, for what I use it for I can't really complain and now it has new engine casings, along with stainless steel engine bolts and a damn good dose of ACF50 I can carry on enjoying my winter riding.

Just wanted to share that she's now a permanent member of the Quinlan Garage!!
