Hi GS Geniuses - I'm hoping you will help me with your creative wisdom.

I love my '06 GS and I love the full exhaust system on it ( Laser DuoTech - I can find zero info about this system ) . However, the headers leave no room for the centre stand to be fitted. I can live with this in everyday life but I want to carry out some maintenance tasks ( most important is the inspection of the final drive and lubing the splines etc.). I have the original centre stand but none of the bolts etc to fit it.

What would you do to solve this situation?

1: Since the exhaust needs to be removed for full final drive inspection, remove the next section of the exhaust, temporarily fit the centre stand, do the inspection/service, remove centre stand and then fit the exhaust. Would work, but a hassle to do every time I want to do any maintenance.

2: Purchase a bike lift like this: Proworks Scissor Lift Black which has the brackets to securely hold the frame. Additional cost but easy for further maintenance.

3: Use some axle stands under the frame. Cheapest but need assistance to get the bike up on the stands. I reckon I can lean the bike on one side, assistant slides axle stand under opposite side, then lean onto the axle stand and slide another stand on the other side.

4: Replace the current full system with some OEM headers and a slip-on and permanently fit the centre stand.

5: ???

Thanks :)

worked for my Honda Dominator in the 1990s
