Hi Chaps,
I have spent most of the day removing my stubby tailpipe, catalyst and downpipes and fitting a Laser Duo-Tech system (courtesy of MerrickCampbell of this parish). Only one exhaust stud to drill & Helicoil, result!

So, very pleased with the way it's all come together and the resulting free-revving performance is excellent - a different bike. Dyno here I come... :D

I may need to sort out pannier heat-shields and tailpipe extensions in due course, but my immediate problem is the centre stand stop which was on the catalyst housing. The Laser manifold does not have a stand stop like some of the Y-pieces I have seen, so the cross-brace of the stand is currently stopping on the manifold, underneath the sump. :blast

Has anybody got a discrete/separate/standalone centre stand stop they are prepared to part with or information which may lead to the apprehension of same?

All advice, pisstakes, stupidity and irrelevance gratefully received

Last time I had this problem (not on a GS) I used a black rubber doorstop - fastened it to the stand.

Ta for that, I may use it if I can find something for it to butt against that doesn't run at 500 degrees C. :thumb2

Bashplate removed to fit the Laser manifold - that's why the stand is resting on the exhaust. Used Optimol TA on the lambda. Thanks for the tip for resetting the Motronic. :thumb2

go to b&q loads in there:bounce1

Not the same issue, but a good replacement for the standard rubber stop is half a broken sump plate mount, bolts onto stand and bobs your auntie:beer:

I live 700m above sea level but even in the dolimites which is any thing between 1200 and 2500m it would still run ok :D

Fixed! Cable-tied a length of high-temperature silicone tubing (sold as model aircraft exhaust tubing) to the centre stand cross-brace. :thumby:
