A cunning plan (December Ride Out)

There was no flood on Saturday but all the rivers were very full. Quite a lot of rain on Sunday though.

There was one dead car there already and one where the driver was reluctant to proceed (but it was about halfpast midnight!). A few years ago on my way to Aberdeen I came round the corner to see the local Bobby standing in the middle of the road in waders. He advised me to keep to the crown of the road and I'd be OK. Pah! When you can hear water coming into the car you are torn between going faster to minimise intake but not so fast as to drown it. I made it through but was flooded inside to the sills!

Why, when they rebuilt that road, didn't they raise that short section!
