A cunning plan (December Ride Out)

It was a great day a wee bit wet and cold in places but hey it's December.

Good to have met some new faces

enjoyed the mussels

Big thanks Dr Ken

I'll second that, a thoroughly enjoyable day!

Now, when we have the next ride out it must be planned around a similarly excellent lunch stop! GS will hence forward mean Gourmet-lunch Stops and not Gellande-Strasse which doesn't sound anything like as tasty :)

Rdover and I turned right in Arrochar and went down the side of Loch Long and then over the military road to get back to the A82. We caught up with you just before you turned east at Balloch. Rdover must have lost a lot of weight on his fishy lunch because his bike kept floating off of the ground as we bordered Loch Long on the A814. I was worried that with it being a blustery day that he might suffer the same fate as Pooh Bear. I know these 1200GS's are light but... :D :D .

Now it is time for

Yes me too, a bit windy in West Lothian at dusk but home safe. Looking forward to the :beerjug: next time.

But where are the pictures? Do we have to wait all night?

Photos - Here's my contribution - enjoy. PM if you want me to email high res pics to you

Cheers

That floating feeling gave me a few pauses for thought, I can assure you. The difference in power between the 1150 and 1200 is remarkable and with the front lifting or the back hopping it was an interesting few miles. I suppose with full luggage it will behave better.

An excellent route through some very picturesque countryside with a great mix of roads. 10/10 for DrKen.

Yes - It Really Was That Wet !

Last two pics.

The rest are just more of the same - but if you want them posted, let me know.

Thanks again DrKen - I look forward to meeting up with you all again soon.

(Thinks . . Must get a bigger bike; being 40 BHP down on the others shows !)

Thanx to DrKen and Mr Gore-Tex

A great run guy's, and great food. Good to meet you all and see you all again sometime soon i hope. :beerjug:

Thanks for the thanks. No really it was no bother, just half a lifetime wandering around western Scotland and access to a map and anyone could do it. Not often you see the bottom of the Crinan Canal though. Looking forward to the next time...

After watching Packer's HID headlights in my mirrors for 200 miles yesterday I got the energy together to fit mine today. Dead easy but fiddly. Now I'm ready to be a light unto the Nation!

Never mind all that . . .

What we want is a picture of your "car crushing" 6 X 6 !

:thumb

It does have some parking issues but these are easily resolved

I left home in Connel late on thursday night bound for Coventry and (in my car) had to ford the road between Crianlarich and Killin. I'm heading back north tonight. Did anyone pass by Loch Dochart yesterday? Had the flood subsided?

There was no flood on Saturday but all the rivers were very full. Quite a lot of rain on Sunday though.
