Just got back from Normandy, doing the beaches thing and a spot of camping
and I must say, what a fantastic week, the weather was great, appart from one afternoon, showers and some thunder and lightning.
Whilest I was on Omaha Beach I was thinking what was the war all about, and then I saw this family playing on the beach, and making sand castles and just being thenselves, then it hit me Freedom. that what it was all about, It actually brought home to me how lucky we are to have our freedom. and next time I'm moaning what a crap job or life I've got I'm gonna take a time out and thank god at what I have got, Its changed me and my attitude towards life in its self, How lucky we all are.

Normandy

Good to read your piece on Normandy. I did the trip just before the latest anniversary and by your images visted the same sites. It affected me in the same way and I dont mind admitting I shed a few tears. Being a member of HM Forces I could feel a strong sense of empathy for the the men and women who gave the ultimate sacrifice. Hopefully the nation will feel the same in sixty years time about the young people giving their lives in our present conflicts. I wonder......

Great pictures done a similar trip the 1st week of June, came back on the 5th just before the celibrations, the place was buzzing, its definatly on my todo list again
