A few problems...

I have got a Garmin Montana and am struggling with a few things, one of which I sorted previously but cannot remember how to do it now !

I have several difference custom profiles one of which used to display the mapping in the OS Map format from the GB Discoverer file. Since I rode on the continent and these maps did not work this profile switched back to the standard Garmin maps (City Navigator?!?!) and I cannot get the map to change back to the GB Discoverer. I have tried to enable/disable the other maps but the OS map will still not display. Has anyone got any hints? The maps still display when using the Recreation profile.

Also is it possible to turn off the speedlimits that are displayed on the bottom right of the screen when using the normal navigation settings on the car/motorcycle profile?

I have a vague memory that OS maps are not available for all zoom levels. But I'm not sure. Have you tried zooming in/out?

I have a Montana 600 & when they do something unexpected they can take some fathoming out! It doesn't help that Garmin don't supply a' proper ' manual. On that subject the attached is a mine of valuable info. and well worth a read through http://garminmontanagpsr.wikispaces.com/

With regards your map problem, it sounds to me as if the profiles you have set up don't allow activation of the OS map. (I assume they are custom profiles you have set up yourself)
Things to check are if the OS maps are on the sd card, if you connect the Montana to your pc can you see all the loaded maps? If not is the card installed correctly?

Can the different maps be seen on 'the set up map' section of the Montana itself?

If you want to start from scratch with the original Garmin loaded profiles and delete your custom profiles or take them off the unit and save them on the pc, the attached wiki has all the original profiles as individual files in one of its sections. This would allow you to start afresh with a complete set of Garmin profiles.

In answer to your question about the speed limit field, I am lead to believe it is not settable by the user, but then it is only displayed if you have a 'Nuvi' dashboard set with the profile that you are using. If you set another dashboard you will lose the speed limit display.

I hope this all makes sense.
