.............on forgotten roads infrequently travelled

Had a few hours out with a good friend,Fritz of this parish......... this afternoon on some forgotten roads

View over to York and we could see York Minster today, it was so clear

Lunch, by a babbling beck & sat on the grass..............with freshly made ham rolls from one of the areas best bakeries.............bliss

We enjoyed a break on Mary Seeking's bench

............to admire this view

.........another forgotten road

Great couple of hours out & about

I did tell him you had been in Iceland last week & he did look wistfully at his Icelandic flag patch on his jacket

He has fond memories too

Tell him to cherish the memories, it's getting busier every year, 2m visitors p/a now!! with several commercial bike tours about to start going there:beerjug:

Yep, I think your earlier, present and his past trips to Iceland have seen the best..................it's getting a bit like Maroc now...................bike package trips are now becoming the 'norm'

Most of the 'busyness' is from tourists hiring cars and 4x4s, (oh and coaches) anyone not pre booking accomodation will struggle and many campsites get fairly packed and noisy. But still a fantastic country to ride in:beerjug:

Trouble is there's only really July and August as a more reliable season although some of the local travellers I met like to ride in September even though the days are shorter.
