Hi,

Just picked up a 2001 650gs with about 9000 miles on it.

It has been standing for about 15 months following a minor accident.

I want to change the oil etc, after a quick search I can't find what grade I need to be putting in.

Also I know the twins have a change of grade at a certain milage is this the same with the 650?

Any help or advice would be much apriciated.

Cheers Val.

I've been running Castrol GP 10W40 (mineral oil) for 30,000 miles, from new. No problems and no signs of wear from the engine or box, and crucially no sign of wear on the clutch when I dismantled it. It looks so good I have to try and find the specifications to check it out properly before I rebuild it.

Mike.

Not downsizing are you?

God no! too slow for an 'only bike'.

It's been dropped, got it for a good price. :P
