A small heads up for anyone considering the new Montana 710

I have just checked with garmin and the new 710 ONLY has GPS and Gallileo satellite receiving ability built in - Glonass has been removed!

If you are headed east, then IMHO you may want to stick with the 700 which is a tri-band

I have been unable to find whether the processor or any of the other hardware has been updated ...or not...

The internal memory is now 32GB and the USB-C port are improvements but not enough for me to fork out £600 for!
I'll wait for the 800 series as I think this 'new' unit is just an intermediate quick cash-cow.
I could be wrong so if anyone knows better- please shout!

Cue @er-minio for a :ROFLMAO: !!

I guess commercial agreements with Russia are not really going forward at the moment :D

I wonder if Glonass is still working on older devices. Haven't checked.

Oops- My bad
the 710 can receive all three, Gallileo, GPS and Glonass. All functioning.

I was misinformed by Garmin-(grrr!)
Now having the unit, I can confirm this.
