A lap round Spain in november

Thanks everybody. now just altering the semi-planned route to include some of the great places you have recommended:D

End of September did same as you but other way around
Day 1 , Santander to Pamplona
Day 2, Pamplona to LLeida
Day 3, Lleida to Denia
Day 4, Denia to St Pedro near Marcella
Day 5, St Pedro to Jerez de la frontiers (two nights)
Day 6, Jerez
Day 7, Jerez to Portimao,(two nights)
Day 8, Portimao ride outs
Day 9, Portimao to Salamanca
Day 10, Salamanca to GIJON (two nights)
Day 11 GIJON and Picos mountains
Day 12 Potes Picos mountains , great roads and fantastic scenery
Day 13 Potes to Santander

2,800 miles weather was good but very wet in north near Andorra booked hotels day in advance through booking.com £25 to £35 a night with breakfast.

Sintra in Portugal is amazing, we were there last week, stayed 3 days and only saw a fraction of the castles, follys, and houses in the area. The aircraft museum at the airforce base is well worth a visit.
Keep away from the Algarve.

Hope your lucky with the weather, central Spain is currently having a bit of an Indian summer.

Madrid daytime temp approx 24 deg c with not a cloud in the sky.
My colleagues say it is very unusual for this time of year.

While you can't get the Spanish supplement we did now, as it's off-sale, you can get the new RiDE Guide to Europe from big newsagents now. It contains all the Spanish routes, as well as all the French routes and a bunch of other touring routes from the previous two years. There are routes in most areas of Spain, with a particular emphasis on the North (as it's most convenient for ferry crossings). The only real advice is... don't waste time on the motorways. It's a fabulous country, so don't miss it by sitting on the bad roads. Get off and explore.

Caceres is a hidden gem, the old town is amazing also look at Trujillo its about 45 minutes east from Caceres where most of the Conquistadors left from to conquer Peru, and the wealth that they brought back can be seen in the buildings. its a lovely small place. Also Merida is worth a few hours looking around the Roman amphitheatre, well worth the 12 euros to get in. The Extremadura country side is uninspiring but the places mentioned are well worth seeing. I was there in October and left a thread in the accommodation section. What ever you deicide have a great time. Spain is a fabulous Country. :thumb2

Looks like you will need a month to pull it all in. :)

The N330 running between Murcia and Teruel is worthy of a mention.
I rode the route North - South in July, riding from Zaragoza to Tortosa then inland to Teruel to join the N330 via the TP3311 La Jana, N232 Morella, CV120 Cantavieja, & joining the N330 at Teruel

will defo consider this one...thanks!!

Great,
all we need is a bike a road and a bit of decent weather to be sublimely happy.
We are lucky to be bikers.
Thanks for sharing.
Some of your pictures look a bit odd. Did some British rain get into your camera?
