A little guidance needed-TET Spain & France

Thank you all, some good reading and thought provoking comments. Im not pushed on the distance I make each day, it was more so a steer for planning. I'll happily tip along and plan it day by day with regards to where I will stay. There looks to be plenty of camp sites plus worst case ill wild camp late and get going early.

The harder part for me will be getting a buddy or group, I like my trips solo. Im naturally a loner and enjoy my own company, living by my own rules as I go. I guess my day to day life is so restrictive, kids, wife, job........ I enjoy that space and freedom.My way to recharge the soul

Always good to have company on a trip. If nothing else you'll have a photo record of yourself trapped under the bike as your so called "Friend(s)" piss themselves laughing before picking the bike off you. Failing that make sure someone knows were you are starting from and were you intend to be on a regular basis and set up an evening check in time?? even just a whatsapp or text.. Also consider using one of those phone tracker apps and give your wife/friend(s) access.....though that won't be much good if your out of signal........or well covered by life insurance

If going solo, maybe consider the ACT for starters, nicely broken up into day sections.

If doing TET and solo or in small numbers, just hit the road when you've had enough and head for the nearest digs. Resume the following day.

TET can have some challenging bits, and as others have said, the character will change with things such as the weather etc

I think the OP said he was looking at going to Spain, there are no ACT routes there yet. The Portugal one is good, but like all the ACT tracks it’s not circular, so it will take you from top to bottom of Portugal - but then you need to either ride it back or look at an alternative

Plenty of peoe do it solo. If you do I recommend using a satellite messaging device like a Garmin Montana or an In Reach.
There’s no mobile signal along a lot of the track.

Although judging by the number of idiots posting on the TET facebook page to see if there’s anyone nearby
that can rescue them/fix a puncture/fix a blown up engine/put them up for the night may give the lie to that!

The Pyrenees ACT route is >50% in Spain.
