A new model launched?

I wonder if this model will be as equally unpopular on the selling charts and be constantly discounted and/or have 0% finance on PCP's....

Apparently the R18 has ceased production as it doesn’t/can’t meet E6 requirements next year. Rumour mill on the R18 forum is the launch of the R20 on the 21st.
They need to concentrate on getting the reverser recall on R18’s sorted & it will be interesting to see if the new model has a reverser option.

Says 1800cc on the photo :nenau

Would be odd to make a model so recent knowing that it wouldn’t meet future requirements so soon, more likely discontinued because they don’t seem to sell many

They’re still on the UK website so you could well be right. When my R18 went in for MoT & the recall to deactivate the reverser 🤬 in December the workshop manager said they were being discontinued because of E6 emissions. 🤷‍♂️

If I understand the "launch" video correctly, they have changed the wheel design, made a bit of bodywork blacker and made the rear suspension and seat a little comfier.

Arguably made it a little more Roctane...

The Classic no longer has a fat front tyre & has the mudguard from the bagger. I think it may have the Roctane head light that has the speedo in the housing. Still show the reverser lever so should be coming up with a fix for the recall 🤞
I prefer the fat front tyre that my Classic has. The original front mudguard is pathetic & IMO doesn’t suit the bike so I replaced mine with a HD style one crafted from the finest Chinese plastic-looks ok though. I like the Roctane headlamp as it’s more in keeping with the bike’s style.
Most importantly is that they’re not dropping the R18 as is, so the workshop manager at my dealer was wrong!

I watched the launch video on fb yesterday. Still an impressive machine but I’m very disappointed it’s not , as the R20 concept is, a roadster as opposed to a cruiser.

Gotta say i'm surprised they are launching new R18 models given the sales figures and used value.. Still love mine although I've not ridden it since the reverse gear was disconnected back in September... Considering going down the bobber route with it in the spring, unless the R20 comes out:bounce1

I only really use reverse on mine to get it out of the wheel chock I keep it upright in. Since the disconnect of the reverse I’ve put block on the garage floor so that the side stand keeps the bike more upright.
As reverse is an option on the configurator of the 2025 models hopefully a fix is not far off.
Notwithstanding that on the R18 forum there’s a pretty comprehensive guide to reconnecting the reverse module.

I've been advised that a fix has been secured and is being rolled out imminently..
According to the R18 forum that’s correct. However I asked my dealer today about the fix & he looked it up on the “AIR” system (whatever that is) & nothing is listed-YET!
Apparently the fix involves a new reverser module & a software flash.
