A nice whisky

Cunning marketing....2 years younger and you couldn't even call it whisky...no matter how much ozone was in it...55 quid a pop!!

Yeah - thinking the same........5yrs isn't very 'mature'.

Not so keen on Talisker these days, to be honest.

As an aside - just poured a load of bottles of malt down the drain.............................

(there was only around an inch in the bottom of each one - been at that level for a few years)

Wait till you taste it, you'll be surprised. Or turn it down. I know what I'll bet on

Was given this for dad's day. Just sat with a glass as I read this.
I'm no expert but this is nectar to me..:thumb2:thumb2

Really?

Was in Sheildaig Lodge with Rob and Meredith 2 weeks ago its been done up really nicely.

Was drinkin

14 yr old Balvenie finished in Caribbean cask - lush

Just been bought a bottle of Talisker Storm, it OK i suppose but its tastes a mere shadow of the bog standard Talisker i sometimes drink. Looking at the packaging of the Storm I think they should perhaps spend a little less on that and add a little more quality to the content.

I've tasted Storm, the best thing about it is the marketing. Somehow they have managed to "de-Talisker" it

Just purchased (via ballot) a 2015 laphroaig cairdeas.... Is there 200th anniversary this year. Was lucky to win, cost me £70, have never paid that BUT sawmon ebay already €200 on german ebay.... Want to enjoy and drink it, just wish i had bought a 2014 when my son was born...... Am sure i can get one though.... No idea how it tastes!!!

"Storm" sounds very like the Bowmore "Legend"......

A budget whisky, which both I and my father purchased, and both came to the independent conclusion that it was "cooking whisky"

My Father who in all honesty - had a bit of a drink problem, poured it down the drain. I had no compunction in doing the same.

I hear the shop is busy, hope so. I see they've put 2 wee bronze stags at the door of the hotel, haven't been in yet though to see the inside

The line manager at Talisker was saying there was a shortage of older whiskies thus branding the likes of storm with older and newer whiskies. I am sure Packer will have more information on why we are seeing the stranger named stalwarts

Demand outstripping supply.
The whisky market has been booming for the last decade, they just can’t keep up and couldn’t have predicted this level of growth.

But 5 year old malt ffs, if there was a whisky offenders register you’d be on it Al.

WTF have I done? Is that what Bowmore Legend is?

Pouring the dregs of the bottles down the drain was better than drinking it - they had been lying oxidising for years. Got tons of whisky left - enough to see me out, for sure.

Is a tenth share in a cask a lot? Think I have two tenths of something?

[edit] a tenth share in a cask of Dalmore and a cask of Bruichladich. Think they are both good productions, especially the Bruichladich

Hands up I realise, problem is its actually a good whisky, though I admit a bit young. A gamble on my behalf, I've had worse
