A proper Rukka alternative to the Baja S4...

And Klim just came out with generation 2 Baja S4 several weeks ago. I have an S4 and the new one has slightly larger mesh areas. Extra internal pockets is a good feature but I like the vertical external pockets versus hand warmer. Again it only comes with Level 1 protection. I upgraded to 2. It’s more expensive than Rukka. But I got mine with a discount.
What really matters is ventilation.
You just can’t beat mesh. You have to layer, LaFuma wind stopper and BMW GoreTex over jacket takes care of the cold. Tested in 5C and I was comfortable.
For some layered system is a pain. But I don’t have a problem.
So look out for some discounts on the old S4 of 25%+
Like for like I don’t think is worth upgrading to either Rukka or new S4, unless you are replacing old gear.

Yep. I bought a discounted S4 as they were being cleared to make shelf space. I like it and won’t be upgrading any time soon.
Interesting to see Rukka joining the party though. I reckon this may be a better bet than the Trek-R for some, as it will be a lot more breathable.
