It is worth following this on a map if you have one as the true value of this route is best seen from above.
Starting in Grimaud take my favourite road in France the D558 to Le Cannét via La Garde-Freinet ( only cos I can see it from home)
At the end of the twisties look out for a left turn onto theD75 direction Les Mayons and Gonfaron.
As you reach Gonfaron take the D39 on your left as you enter the village the sign is facing away from you and is hard to see.
Work your way along this twisty forest road until you reach a junction, turn right onto the D14 to Collobriéres, first picture shows recently harvested cork oak trees.
The second picture shows the road to Collobriere and the third a view of the Massif de Marres National Park including a gratuitous shot of my machine.
When you reach Collobriéres go straight through the centre even thought it feels like you shouldn't and follow signs for CUERS using the D14.
After 2/3 Km. turn left onto the D41 this road climbs twisting all the way and gets better as you get higher.
Next picture is part way up the climb and took me off road to get this shot of the bay at Hyeres and Toulon.
From this point the road surface improves and the road gets a little wider as the picture shows, however the drops become a little more intimidating.
At the end of the road you reach the main La-Mole to Toulon D98, traverse this and immediately you are on a well surfaced full width road that will entertain you all the way into Borme-Les-Mimosas and down onto the D559 coast road and left back towards St Tropez.
Continue towards St Tropez until you reach Rayol-Canadel-sur-Mere where you turn left onto the D27 direction La Mole.
Today there was a huge ROUTE BARRÉ sign at the bottom but you can always get by on a motorcycle, can't you?
To be continued.
