Now that the winter draws in, it's time for some short summer memories.

A small vignette of a long ride last summer.

We’d been on the road for 2 days. Completed Lands end to JoG. Had a nights sleep, then took the back roads to the UKGSER Clans event.

Long empty roads, that were long and empty.

Just the four GS’s riding along in tune, as you do when you’ve all just covered 1200 concentrated miles together, with another days riding still to do. No hardship in these surroundings.

But everyman must stop for food. So we did. At Loch Allen. Box 746

No need for diners or cafes, not when your in the company of “a knocker upper of food extraordinaire”, and all secreted away in a pannier.

One of the finest lunches I’ve had this year, with good relaxed company and freeflowing easy conversation. And the food has never tasted better. Nothing planned, yet so simple, and everything went together. With no midges.

You'll never go hungry while you have a tin of little fish, a tube of squeezy cheese and a pack of wraps.

Forgot about that lunch stop, thanks for reminding me, roll on next years trips :thumb2

I didn't get to where I am now without a healty appetite:thumb2

Anyway when the master, world travelling, extreme survival chef is in the mood to show his skills, it would be rude to ignore him:D

A great little "cameo" post. Really whets the appetite on more than one level
