Vern's mk 1 was sitting on the mat when I came in this evening.
Despite his apparent fears of a customer's alteration of specification second only to that of the new Wembley, all is worryingly OK.
On the left is my template, on the right Vern's go...
and here they are together:
All I need to do is offer Vern's masterpiece up to my bike.... a task that will have to wait as I can't get into the garage until next week.

The small holes you drilled for the cable ties are uncannily close to the marks I made on my card. One question. What's the large hole, top right, for?
PS I have two people contact me, seeing if they could get one when we've finished. Looks like you could be sitting on a gold mine.
The large hole is to clear the weld on the frame rail,so the plate fits snugly to the rail.

I can engrave them, then fill them with blue, easy peasy, much nicer than felt tip IMO

All done and very pleased with the result.
I had, as Whatton suggested considered having it made out of black acrylic. I'm now glad that I did I didn't. The silver of the aluminium goes quite well with the other gaps in the frame. I also think having it behind the frame tubes works quite well.
