A solution to a knackered fuel strip (sort of)

"I'm sick of either filling the tank to the brim and suffering a heavier bike than necessary so I've provided a back stop option (of carrying a can of fuel)."

Surely carrying an extra can of fuel will equate to the same weight issue? :nenau

No. He said he's only intending to fill it half way up now and rely on the fact that he's got the 2 1/2 litres to top up when he runs out which will be far more often now as he will never know exactly how much fuel is in the tank.

This is stupid. Now running out of petrol will allow the fuel pump to run dry. That'll ..... um wreck the fuel pump. Don't run a fuel pump dry.

heard it all now,not filling the tank full but carrying xtra fuel elsewhere on the bike, the op's post's get ever more bizare and stupid.why the fuck does he still own a bm is anyones guess, the whole bike is flawed in one way or another according to him,do us all a favour as rasher did and buy something else and stop blanket posting your drivel:D:thumb2

Spot on there old son.

Fuck me backwards Bendy. You have a 33 litre tank on a bike which does around 10 miles per litre. Really, how difficult is it to work out when to fuel up without faffing about ?
