Me and KELVIN G went out for a run up the coast today, From amble up the coastal route through longhoughton up through seahouses then on through bamburgh then up the A1 up towards berwick. We turned left at east ord roundabout then on to the chainbridge honey farm which i found a few weeks ago by accident which is well worth a visit as it full of stuff from yesteryear. The person who owns it is having a (scooter rallye) there next march . He also said that he would be up for a bike rallye if anyone is up for it. there is a big flat feild for camping on the down side there is no pub for 3mile.

more photos

and it is free, you can look around at your own pace. They are building a viewing platform so that you can watch them doing the extracting of the honey from the hive cones and getting it bottled. there is a cafe which is in an old london bus where you can get a good mug of tea and the usual cheese scones.

FURTHER ON

After that we went over the oldest chain link bridge in the world. Then back up the A1 to burmouth then on to eyemouth then up to st abbs harbour then up the steep winding road to the light house point. What a veiw from the top. Then it was time to head back down the A1 then onto the coastal route heading for home to watch the F1 and button winning the title. A great day out and only 132mls

Yeah, make sure you invite us next time:beerjug:

It wasnt planned i woke up it was dry and bright so i rang kelv and off we jolly well went. I was wanting to scope it out to do as a run for next year. (AND YOU WILL ALL BE INVITED) i will be back up to st abbs for hallowen with the caravan and will try to find some more little places of intrest. I am working down in yarm all week and staying in a b&b so when i get home i have loads of stuff to get caught up with, ie the extension i started over two and a half years ago. the house bit is finnished but the garage is still to be plasterboarded and plastered, painted, wired, etc etc.(thats why i was thinking of selling my bike but have decided to keep it)

I'm pleased you're keeping your bike, after all what would you put in the garage once it's finished:thumb

Might be a good destination for a ride-out ....say from a NE UKGSer event...
