I think this is used as a sort of 'feeder' for several official BMW museums and it could be that any K1's are on display at those instead - The vehicles get moved around quite often - there were certainly keys in most of them (and big burly security guards at the gates!).

That was a prototype BMW WSB racer from a few years ago. I had a really good article on it in a mag but buggered if I can find it now.
