A wander round Scandinavia ( Trademark Wapping)

Great weather for it too!
Keep us posted with photos and trip report :)

El Scorchio today.
370 miles from Hoek Van Holland ferry terminal to Lubeck (staying in the Ibis)
Temps around 33C all day, with a very hot wind as well.
Dehydration and heat stroke a real possibility, so kept the Camelback well topped up and took regular breaks to sit in the shade and cool down.

Scandinavia proper tomorrow, with a quick stop in Denmark before heading into Sweden

Only 220 miles today, with a short ferry crossing from Puttgarden in Germany to Rodby in Denmark
A quick stop in the office for a free lunch, then on to Helsingborg in Sweden.
A much better day for riding, with the temp's around 22-23C with a fairly strong wind, especially on the bridge between Copenhagen and Malmo.

Will try and get a couple of pic's of the area later, but there's not much here in the hotel car park:D

Outskirts of Stockholm tomorrow as I make my way north for the midsummer rally next weekend

340 miles today.
Helsingborg to Kungens Kurva, just south of Stockholm.
Day started out nice and cool at around 19-20C but the day soon warmed up to around 25-26C
Cheap hotel for the night, just accross the road from lots of eateries.
Seems popular with bikers, as a couple of Finnish Triumphs in the car park

Been using up my Hotels.com reward nights to save a few pennies,
Northwards tomorrow.

Nice short day, only 192 miles from south of Stockholm to Hudikvall.
Only let down by a grumpy receptionist who was not helpfull with parking the bike, even tho' I reserved a parking spot and paid for it
Nearly at my final destination, which is the small town of Vindeln, but will be staying in Umea tomorrow.
Lots more bike pic's to follow this weekend.

Cheers

220 miles from Hudiksvall to Umea, ready for the proper fun to begin
Staying in a small boutique hotel  but it has no windows ?????

Short run to Vindeln for the Scandinavian Vincent Owners Club annual rally.
Pic's to come tomorrow

Apologies for the lack of updates over the last couple of days, ut no WiFi and a poor signal made things difficult.

Had a lovely time with friends in superb weather. There were 21 Vincent's in attendance with 1 rider doing over 3800 km to be there for the weekend.

Left Vindeln and did around 500 km heading south and starting the long journey home.
Heading for Jonkoping tomorrow and will visit the Husqvarna museum

Overnighted at Jonkoping, and set off early to have a wander round the Husqvarna museum.
I was a little disapointed, as there was only 1 bike on display (A 1920's V twin 980cc with Husqvarna sidecar) so set off for the nights hotel.

Stayed in a hotel just outside the port of Puttgarden.
It looked a little run down from the outside, but was OK inside. The look outside was due to renovation works being carried out (New air-con going in)
In house resteraunt did a nice wide range of food and drinks, at very reasonable prices.

The following day was a long slog across Germany and into the Netherlands.
This was because I had changed my return ferry crossing, and needed to be closer to Hoek Van Holland

Stayed near Amersfoort in https://landgoedzonheuvel.nl/

Nice resteraunt and rooms, although a little small once the riding gear is spread out.

Last day on the wander was a run to Hoek Van Holland for the daytime ferry back to Harwich.
We departed at exactly 1415 the posted sailing time, and I arrived home around 2130

Hi Rushy,
No problems at all.
The chain is starting to get a bi9t loose, so will adjust it when it gets cleaned. I spray it every evening when on tour.
The pivotpegs I mentioned in your thread lower the pegs by about 20mm, and are much wider than standard, and as they rock backwards and forwards that helps releive ankle problems.
The Norden is currently fitted with Conti TA3's which are much better as a road tyre than the Pirelli STR's

Sounds like a good ride :thumb2 You appear to have been lucky with the weather too. Always a bonus.:thumb2
