A weekend in Tobermory - up for it? 1 to 3 August

I'm lurking!! I will come up .... :D

I've started a Facebook page on Northern Jock's behalf to keep folk who don't come in here up to date

More the merrier :beerjug:

I've provisionally booked 10 spaces at the campsite so let me know if you want to camp so I can increase/decrease numbers nearer the time

If anyone wants to stay anywhere else, book yourself :thumb2

Don't book for me, my 'I will come up' was more one of, 'at some point' ... :P

It's a long way for a weekend from here, but I must make the effort to come up at some time and meet the likes of Mike and co. ... :thumb

The Mishnish, now there's a place. Has it been done up recently?
Went to the Mull music festival a few years ago, spent most of it on the piss in the Nish.
The place was brilliant but rough. Water was leaking through the light fittings in the bogs.Character they called it. Then there was one of the locals who was so mullered that he woke up to be sick into his pint, went back to sleep,
when he next opened his eyes, drank the pint then passed out again, waste not want not.

I think that I may need a good relaxing weekend around then to get over the stress of number one daughters wedding. Chalk me up for it, I may also have my son with me, just passed his test and zipping around on a CB500.

If you don't mind a newbie tagging along, I might be interested in heading over. I might just be getting used to the bike by then, or at least be able to ride it without embarrassing you guys. Any recommendations on a b&b, I'm afraid my camping days are well behind me. Soft city boy :-)

I was staying in your neck of the woods the other week Johnny. A cottage at Glenlivet. Now, I know Tomintoul is a bit bigger than where I was but a city?

Can't get the Friday off, so that means you'll be spared my company and scintillating conversation.

:tears

Can you not sneak away a wee bit early on the Friday and head north, even if you don't have the whole day?

Haha. Only moved up here a couple of years ago, originally a Glasgow boy.

Ferry from Oban is the quickest way but the best way is via the ferry to Tobermory/ Kilchoan....Some stonking roads over in Ardnamurchan.

Cal Mac website doesn't give details of that sailing but google search for the ferry crossing takes you to cal macs website :blast
